Same issue. I’m doing the repair on my own phone because I hate the iPhone 11 and just really like my iPhone 8 Plus. So what I’m hearing is don’t cheap out on the new screen? Also I installed a new home button and as I was folding it over to plug it in I noticed a tiny tear. Could this also be an issue? Really sucks Apple is cracking down on repairs and forcing everyone to buy new phones. Not sure why we can’t just like our old phones and replace them when we want. But then I don’t own a billion dollar company.
