Is the battery replacement similar to first gen iPad?

Hi, I am looking to replace the battery for my ipad pro 12.9 inch 2nd gen. However, there are no battery replacement guides and tear down for 2nd gen, Can I used the tear down guide for the ipad pro 1st gen, and are there any differences/similarities that i need to take note of?
I have successfully replaced batteries for various apple devices including iphone 5s, 6s+ 6+ and ipad air 2.
