Turned out to be a bad SSD which was not enabling me to get it to boot. It’s always the last thing that you expect, so lesson learned when troubleshooting, eliminate all possibilities even the ones that seem irrelevant.

Luckily, the SSD was covered under warranty so keeping my fingers crossed.
