By not working do you mean that they couldn’t be turned on or that they showed no indications of receiving a signal?
Does the WiFi also not work?
If it is also not working or only working when the phone is placed nearly on top of the router then there maybe a problem with the WiFi/BT antenna connection. (The BT might also register if placed right next to a BT device)
Here’s the ifixit [guide|128537] guide. I realize that this is not the problem but the guide is useful as one end of the antenna connection is able to be seen in the image at Step.8 in the guide. You would have to trace it back to check if the other end was also connected securely if the end near the USB port was OK

The antenna connection is also visible in the image below. Look for the black cable with the silver connector coming in from the left side down the bottom of the image.
