I noticed my laptop’s base cover screws were getting a little bit stripped so I managed to obtain replacements from Dell directly as a precautionary measure. The original screws did not have any threadlocker material on them. The screws are M2x3mm, T5 Torx and look like these: https://www.amazon.com/Pieces-Screws-Replacement-Screwset-Precision/dp/B07YNLY33L/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1TJJU3U10PS6J&dchild=1&keywords=m2x3mm+screw&qid=1588772105&sprefix=m2x3mm%2Caps%2C227&sr=8-1

For some reason, out of the eight screws that Dell sent me, six of them had blue threadlocker while the remaining two screws had red(!) threadlocker on them. Obviously, I wouldn’t want to be using them without getting the threadlocker off lol.

So now the thing is I cannot for the life of me remove the threadlocker material. So far I have tried soaking the screws in 100% acetone and have tried using a soldering iron to heat it up, but nope it won’t come off. I’m guessing the threadlocker applied is a really thin layer to a really small screw so it’s very hard to get it off.
Has anyone ever managed to successfully remove threadlocker material from a small laptop screw before?
