Here’s an image from the [https://cardiagn.com/?s=sunfire|Sunfire THM 4240-E Automatic transmission Service manual] that shows the location of the two shift solenoids.

Not sure if this is relevant as it says for Sunfire models 1995 onwards but don’t know if it is applicable to your year model. Hopefully it is.
