That is a very old laptop. Sounds like the hard drive is defective.

-Take it out. Do still hear the “sounds like something is crushing inside it “ ? If not then the hard drive is the problem. The hard drive is an IDE type. All current drives are SATA.

It is hard to find IDE laptop drives these days but maybe you could perhaps salvage one from an old dead machine.
