Can you access the internet OK?
If so try updating the ''Play Store'' app and check if that resolves the problem
Open the Play Store app and then tap on the ''Settings'' for the app
Scroll down and tap on ''About''.
If there is a prompt to update the app tap and follow the prompts.
Once updated, restart the phone and check if it now downloads the apps OK.
Have you checked that the apps are compatible with the Android OS installed in the phone.
Most apps will show their system requirements when you scroll down on their page appearance in the Play Store.
It may be that the apps you wantr are not compatible with your phone and won’t work
