The display of my T580 stopped working from one day to the next. The device itself was still working. I could access it via usb using adb. After opening the device I unplugged the black lcd ribbon cable stretched over the battery. After plugging it back again everything was working fine. This seems to be quite often the root cause. I suggest using the ifixit opening tools. Opening the case has to be done very carefully. Watch some youtube videos to learn how to do it.
