Hi @derf87 ,
Check that the [https://www.appliancepartspros.com/lg-motor-dc-eau61524007-ap5950081.html|evaporator fan] is OK and is running nearly silently.
The evaporator fan is turned off when a door is opened and then is turned on again when the door is shut, so as to prevent the cold air being blown out of the compartments.
I don’t know your model but with most refrigerators the evaporator fan is located near the evaporator unit which is located behind a panel ''inside the freezer compartment.''
-Try removing the panel and then with the door open manually operate the door switch which should be in the door jamb to start the fan up again and listen if that is where the noise is emanating from.
+Try removing the panel and then with the door open manually operate the door switch which should be in the door jamb to start the fan up again (also turns off the lights in the fridge) and listen if that is where the noise is emanating from.
The fan will run as long as the compressor is running.
Do not confuse this fan with the condenser fan which is used to cool the condenser coils and also the compressor and which is mounted ''outside the refrigerator compartments.''
