When replacing the battery or charger port theres a little steel cage you must remove, i couldnt get it back on correctly so I bypassed the cage and connected it, this didnt work, so I had the use the speakerphone to put pressure down on the cage without the wiring in it, then connected the home button and the speaker phone pressure on the cage creates some connection to the microphone. (the bar should be over the cage before screwing down sticking out the left side of the cage.

There needs to be pressure on that cage and the glued down foam piece being gone eliminates the pressure cushion with the phone assembled.
