I know I’m unlikely to get a response, but did you ever attempt this? In your situation, I feel you have nothing to lose by trying. I want to put an A1466 board in my A1369, mostly for a slightly faster processor, upgrade the RAM to 8GB and for USB 3.0. However, my A1369 is still working fine, so I’m less reluctant to spend money, and trying to find a working A1466 board to try it at a cheap enough price is hard. I’m looking for a very cheap board of any spec to run as a test, with the intent to then sell it and buy the actual board I want later on. Yes, I know I could just buy a new Air, but I really don’t have the money for that, don’t mind tinkering and have had this one since new in 2011. It might end up a Trigger’s broom, but I do kind of want to eek it out for 10 years at least.
