This is caused by a bad LCD panel, usually when exposed to excessive heat, or sunlight. I had my old LCD TV do the same thing (I left it facing a window, and somehow the direct sunlight it was damaging it over time, and causing it to fade to red) When it goes back to normal, is it spontaneous, or does it fade back to normal colors? Also, do you keep the computer in a hot, or bright (From sunlight) environment? That would be the likely cause of the problem.
