Couple of things to try and narrow down the problem and hopefully resolve it.
a) When on a call press the ''speaker key'' and check if you can now hear the caller and be heard by the caller OK in speakerphone mode.
''If this works OK'' then the voice reception circuit for the phone is OK. Go to step b).
''If you still can’t hear the caller'' then there is a problem with the phone’s voice reception circuit.
''If the phone service is VOIP service'' (phone service over internet connection, the phone is connected to a modem) try plugging another corded phone into the modem where the phone was plugged into and check if you can hear OK when on a call, as it may be a modem problem and not a problem with the phone itself.

If the phone service is connected to a telephone cable into the premises thenther there is a problem with the phone and most likely it will have to be replaced as Uniden doesn’t have spares.

b) When on a call press the ''boost key'' and check if you can now hear the caller OK
''If you can hear the caller OK'' then the Boost option has resolved the problem.
If you still can’t hear the caller, then there is a problem with the phone’s earpiece receiver and the phone will have to be replaced as Uniden doesn’t have spares.
