If the water dispenser only drips while its off the internal leak may be related to thermal expansion ([https://www.thespruce.com/water-heater-expansion-tank-information-2719063|info]) and contraction or the small leak may be evaporating off before you see it while the unit is running. [br]

In any case its probably going to get worse. [br]

Still.[br]

I’d say, replace it before it starts to really leak. How old is the unit?[br]

I have had [https://wisepick.org/best-instant-hot-water-dispenser/|one of these] hot water dispensing systems (In-Sinkerator was the last one) for a very long time. I have replaced several of them. From my experience, they last between 7 and 10 years and then start to leak. I think the spitting is a symptom of a failing system. Mine always act up like that just before they need replaced. I have lived in several different places and the first mod I have done to each of them is to add a RO and Instant Hot water system.
