I highly recommend replacing the Carbon Brushes before you start replacing more expensive components. The carbon brushes are $20 and easy to replace. I had the F06 error code intermittently at first. After running the diagnostics test a few times it changed from intermittent to permanent. Replacing the carbon brushes solved the problem for me. It only takes about 1hr and $20 from Amazon. This was on a Whirlpool wfc7500vw2.
