Small spring and ball fitment (not 3 large springs)

When rebuilding the grinder on my Jura E8, a small spring and ball ‘appeared’ on my worktable. I have been unable to find any reference to them except one video that says put the spring down the center shaft hole which doesn’t work. I would really appreciate a response.
