-Bit confused when you say that it doesn’t happen on analogue audio but the clicking is quite loud. Presumable the relay is still operating but not affecting the audio is this correct?

On p.5 it shows that the receiver has 3 protection circuits. Thermal, over voltage and over current. You may have to work out which protection circuit is the one causing the relay to operate. The manual has the circuits (see p.16/35 when viewed in PDF viewer) to find the protection circuit.
Hopefully this will be of some help.
