Try to “smack” the back of the iPad a couple times to adjust the LCD connection. If this does not work, it may be some type of LCD damage. The [guide|106988|replacement process] isn’t all that bad or expensive so that is still an option if necessary.

If you recently bought this device new from apple, you should exchange it for a replacement one.
