Battery not charning, unresponsive keyboard, no CPU fan

Hi,
I have quite a serious problem with my laptop (HP Zbook 17) where the following things are faulty:
* Battery not charging
* Keyboard is unresponsive, have to press really hard
* Trackpad unresponsive
* CPU fan almost never works
+
Because the diversity of issues, my first thought went to the motherboard however I’m not certain as I’m not very familiar with laptop hardware.
What would be the best step to take to further diagnose the problem?
I’ve had this issue for over a year now but I never really bothered trying to fix it because I mainly use a desktop however I’d like to know if it’s still worth trying to repair it or if I’d be better off just buying a new machine.
