My subjective experience is that the timeouts are related to setup pegging my CPU at 100%. I seem to have better luck if I run nothing else but Task Manager, watching for any dip in CPU use below 95% before holding the trigger. (It still takes me about a dozen attempts. WTF Oculus?)
