Stop working, power led off, batery light blinking

I opened the notebook and tested the power cable, which is OK; over the motherboard everything seems to be OK:no burnt or damaged componets, leakage capacitors. I tested the AC adapter which is also OK.  Is there a problem with the batery?  How can I test it? Some is wrong with hibernation mode? How can I maka a ''heavy''test of the AC adapter?
