Have you made sure that the replacement LCD is not for an iPad Mini 2 being used on a iPad Mini 1 or vice versa? As the displays look very similar but are not compatible with each other.

The mini 2 LCD has smaller metal covers at the bottom of the LCD compared to the Mini 1 so make sure to compare old screen with new one.
