Function keys F1-F12 not working after logic board replacement

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

So I just finished a logic board replacement for the A1534 model. Everything booted up and running fine, except for one thing: the function keys don’t do any of the special functions (volume, brightness, play/pause, etc). Just the board replacement, nothing else.

I also checked with online keyboard testers, and the keys responded fine.

I read somewhere in this forum/probably somewhere else that you need to remap those keys using a specific tool at Apple Stores. Is this true at all? Right now I’m resorting to a 3rd party remapper, but I want them to work as they were originally meant to be.
