I’ve begun experiencing the same issue with HDX18 -1000 CTO Premium Notebook / FW314AV Pavilion.
When laptop is turned on, screen flicker with slight buzzing noise and sometimes stays illuminated however, most times goes dark.
I’ve confirmed seeing desktop images / icons etc., very faint on screen when I shine a flashlight directly on it. I’ve since connected laptop to LCD TV vie HDMI cable to view. Ithink it may be LCD inverter board, and would like to confirm where its located, and if the HDX 18 has one or two installed (dual Lamp LCD screen inverter board).I believe part # is TBD512NR / AS023220500. The HP HDX 16 Entertainment PC, Maintenance and Service Guide (Document Part Number: 487263-001), references the following part; HP NTSC/ATSC/ANG TV tuner module / '''Part 482899-001)'''.
