Broken screen ribbon cable connector (not just the latch). Fixable?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

Replacing my 70-year old mother’s T-800 battery, I manage to pull (most of) the ribbon cable connector off of the board. The cable is just fine.

This thing is 5 years old and obsolete and if it were up to me, I’d buy her a new one. She is extremely attached to it. I feel absolutely horrible.

Any suggestions are extremely appreciated. I can solder basic things, but this seems to be beyond me.

In the alternative, does anyone know how to get the data off of this thing without a screen?
