NO sound from Bose 3-2-1 Base after smoking.

My 3-2-1 Bose AccustiMass Base Module no longer emits any sound. I was told it was smoking/sparking.  I did a continuity test on the  cord from unit to wall. Tested fine. Plugged cord back in but base or console does not power on.  Suggestions on next steps to troubleshoot?
