Once a new logic board is put in, does the OS and all the programs need to be re-registered with their manufacturers, since a new logic board is basically a different computer with its new ID #?

Also, besides just providing a funtioning graphics card, what other benefits will a newer logic board (like from a 2012 model) provide for a late 2011 MBP?
