I had exactly the same problem with my son’s PS4 and I spent a lot of time trying various suggestions about what to do, fortunately the last (and most simple) suggestion was the only one that worked - I blew as hard as possible into the air vents and openings of the unit to clear away any dust build up, I switched it on, and it fired up instantly!, I couldn’t believe it was such a simple remedy. It may not work for everybody but on the forum where I’d seen this tip there were many people saying it had worked for them which is why I tried it.
