Are you using the charger that came with the laptop?

Are you using the original charger that comes with the laptop? Sometimes if the charger is not powerful enough / original it may refuse to charge the battery or power the laptop without battery.
Try these if you haven't already:
* Powering it on without battery but charger plugged in.
* Unplug any non major components for turning the laptop on such as USB daughter boards, optical drive, speaker cable.
* If there is a coin battery present in the board try removing that for 5 minutes then put back in and try turning the laptop on. That resets the settings on the board's bios.
