Usually it will not retain its water resistance after a screen replacement unless it’s done by apple in which they make sure that the watch is properly sealed. Apples warranty also does specifically states even though the watch is water proof it isn’t covered for any water damage done to it just as a heads up. But if you are doing the repair your self even with a new gasket which is directly under the screen to keep the screen from coming off it will sadly not be water resistant anymore.

After a screen replacement on Apple Watches, no matter the generation the gasket between the screen and housing will be compromised. Unfortunately even with a new replacement with the proper tools and equipment it is impossible to ensure the watch has been completely sealed to avoid penetration. Apple themselves know this and that is why when they do it they’ll give you either a new watch or a refurbished one.
