okay everyone, I was looking for something completely different and I ran into this forum. After reading all the questions and all the answers I realized the most of you are grasping at straws, lack of knowledge in electronics and basically dealing with guesswork. if you really really know electronics you would understand that it is a miracle that these phones even work! I grew up with tubes with components that are the size of the entire phone so you must understand how much goes into every and each of these phones, the miniaturization that goes on … so start from there and your life would be easier. there are so many things that can go wrong … so the best approach is, eliminate the obvious: if your phone doesn't charge start by replacing the battery with a known good battery if there’s still no indication, more than likely the charging port is defective! think about it it's always in your pocket collecting lint! start by blowing the port with compressed air and see if there's a difference. if you have a microscope you may take a needle small enough to clean it out. secondly if your phone doesn't light up but it gets hot more than likely it's your display, the display could be simply the flex cable not connecting for that you need to take it apart and reconnect press on the motherboard gently in the right places, you need magnification once you're inside the phone do not try to do anything otherwise there are many finger connectors that can easily be compressed and then you'll have bad reception when he put it back together I can go on and on and on but the only way to resolve this it step-by-step. Do not put your phone in the freezer! the fact that it works after the freezer only indicates you have an intermittent connection and so it is a temporary repair but in the long run you are dooming your phone for good! because what you're creating is condensation there are many radio parts that are shielded and the first thing that happens is the metal gets cold and the air trapped underneath the metal becomes condensed and you get corrosion or worse, a short! so do yourself a favor do not put your phone in the freezer you're better off taking a blow dryer and creating a lot of heat around the phone take off all the plastic parts you can, take off your battery take off the Sim and memory cards and blow a lot of hot air all around but still if you have an intermittent problem it maybe one of the flex cables, there are many of them. I would need days to write all the options. I will try to add some more in the future thanks everyone hope this helps …!
