I have found that if an HDMI port is bad, or going bad, the tv will turn off. When my cable box was connected to the bad port, the tv would turn off and could not be turned back on easily. Today, I moved the HDMI cable to the only remaining HDMI port that is good. No further problems. I plugged the PlayStation into the port that the tv formerly was plugged.
