How do I reinstall the door latch pull cable?

I’ve got a 1933 E34 BMW 525i. The driver’s window wasn’t working, so I took things apart and fixed it. I’ve now got a new window motor installed and working great. However, in the process of taking things apart I broke the door pull cable.  It was frayed and probably due to break soon anyway No big deal, I thought, a genuine new one was only $14: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AEI8UWS/

I’m finally to the phase of putting everything back together, and can’t for the life of me figure out how to install this cable. I need to get it hooked into the latch mechanism, and then get the other end attached to the handle on the door.
