Why is my player marking a noise but not coming on

I have a samsung bd-h6500 blu ray player that kept turning on and off the only way i could turn the player off is unplug it i tried to see if would do anything a day or so but when i plug it in it just makes a noise which i found out is the laser moving but then it go’s quite i dont really want to throw it away i would like to try and save it if can many thanks
