Well as of the 08th Jan 2019 I mistakenly threw my ps4 controller in water (a backet full of water) i tried to dry the controller but unfortunately it did not work, tried plugging it in the charging port but funny colours such as pink, red, and purple started showing up which never did before, but after that i did the same thing as i did with my phone, putting the controller into a bowl full of dry rice(not wet rice) for 24 hrs, as we speak my controller is charging with its normal flashing light orange that normally comes on when I charge and it still plays well. Try that if u come across water damage problems it saved me 1000 rands
