some times you can make sure the switch is closes to the brass pins and put a piece of scotch tape over the switch and the little cutout on the opposite side. make sure not to cover the shiny pins. this has worked on some cases. the card readers and adapters are not advanced enough for a SDHC card and newer windows operating systems won`t work on some of the newer cards because it do not support encryption.
