Secure folder was added to my phone by someone else.

When my ex-boyfriend and I were together he somehow managed to gain access to my phone long enough to put a secure folder onto it. I can't get into the folder because it is password protected. When I asked about it we were still together and he just denied doing it. Several days later we split up and I sent a reset password code to his email and asked for him to send me the code but he just ignored my request. How do I get into the folder to find out what he has done to my phone or what he was hiding on my phone?
