Hi @cdm1018 ,
Is the USB port damaged at all or is the tablet just not charging?
''If it is just not charging,'' check the USB port enclosure using a strong light and a magnifying glass to ensure that there is no lint etc, trapped in there preventing a good connection and that all the pins are there and that they are straight and parallel with each other..
If the enclosure has debris lodged in there then try using a vacuum cleaner to suck it out. if it won’t dislodge do not use a metal pin or probe to try and clear it as you may damage the pins or cause electrical problems in the tablet. Try gently using a sharpened wooden toothpick instead.
''If the port is damaged'' then the port will have to be replaced. If it is OK and the tablet is not charging, it may be that the port is loose from the systemboard.
In either event the tablet will need to be opened.
Here’s a link to the ifixit [guide|41585] guide. It is useful as it shows how to open the tablet to remove the motherboard. As the USB port is a SMD (Surface Mounted Device) type connector mounted on the motherboard, you will need SMD soldering skills and tools to effect the removal and replacement of the USB connector. This is not easy for a novice repairer.
As there are a lot of micro USB type connectors (different mounting configurations) you’ll also need the correct connector that suits your motherboard.
