Does your MacBook charge when you connected your AC adapter to another USB-C port? They all can operate in both modes as a data transfer interface and as a charging port.
Also there’s catch with MacBook chargers… Inside of those cables (in USB-C connector, to be exact) is a controller that basically decides how much power will adapter provide… And the stupid thing is that those controllers are all locked only on one specific number of watts (45, 65 or 85), so they are not interchangeable that easily… Louis Rossmann covered that topic with more detail. But if you know someone who has an USB-C capable monitor that can also charge laptop, try that. Or ask someone for their charger for testing purposes (don’t forget to return, though :P). If nothing works and MacBook won’t boot while plugged in to AC, then you have faulty power controller, looks like. After that you did everything you could, and now go to a repair shop with decent reputation (not Apple Stores or AASPs, that won’t end good).
