swiping up from bottom does not work on the ipad 2 front panel.

I replaced my ipad 2 front panel. everything is working except when i try to swipe up from the bottom It does not respond. I can swipe up in the middle and upper part of the ipad. but i cannot swipe upward from the very bottom of the screen. I also did not seal the ipad securely so it is partially sealed and partially not sealed towards the bottom and the left side. Could that be the problem? If not what could be the cause of the issue. I bought the screen off of ebay.
