Have you checked that the CMOS battery is OK and not depleted?

Try doing a power reset after you remove the CMOS battery, i.e. remove main battery, remove CMOS battery, press Power button for 10+ seconds and release, insert CMOS battery, insert main battery.

Then start the laptop and if it starts check if you can get into BIOS at least.
