It's not the laser. If you tap above where the disc goes a couple seconds after you insert the disc it will work and read the disc. If it was a bad laser it would never read. And on the other hand my system is less than a year old how can my laser already be bad. Plus I've owned PS my whole life(28yo) and this is the first real problem that seems to have no answer to why it does this. I atleast hope the tap tip
