Stupid question, but you did try Fn+F9 to enable/disable the trackpad?
If that is no good, if you have Win 10 installed, try installing the latest Asus ''ATK Package'' and ''Smart Gesture'' drivers for your laptop Win 10 version (32-bit or 64-bit). Ensure that you install the ATK package '''''first''''' before you install the Smart Gesture drivers.
