Boot loops are indicative of the phone failing its health check on startup, so likely there is something physically wrong with the device (at least in its current state) besides the cracked screen.  If it hit hard enough in the top / top right corner then it might have damaged the front camera/speaker flex cable, the rear camera, etc

If you're comfortable trying to fix it yourself I'd give it a go. The screens for that model are really cheap these days and the experience is worth something. If it's still having issues post-replacement try not reconnecting the front ribbon cable and/or disconnecting the rear camera.
