Once a keyboard has shorted out there is very little that can be done (as far as cleaning), to get it operational again. Your main concern is preventing damage to the logic board.
You are going to need to replace the keyboard. Test the machine out first with an external keyboard to see if the keys that don’t work now, will work on the external.
Replacing just the keyboard on this model is very labor intensive. Luckily the uppercase is not to high dollar:
