I had the same problem - my power and volume buttons stopped working after replacing the battery.

The 2nd screenshot shows a cable that could have come loose. Mine was glued down and taped, but had still come loose (probably while heating the phone up to take the back plate off).
-I used long thin pliers to peal the clear tape, reseat the cable, and put the tape back on again. The phone works great now!
