Why does the sound cut off? How can it be fixed?

The sound on my G Pad 7.0 LTE cuts off after about a minute of play. It doesn't matter if it is music, a movie, or Youtube video. This only happens with the internal speakers. Using a bluetooth speaker, or headphone jack, there is no problem.

I suspect it is software or firmware. How can this be fixed?
