I had this same issue for days. Did a little research online and found that the problem was that I was using my iPhone charger, not my original big, square iPad charger. I found my old iPad charger, plugged it and poof! it took of the issue. The reasons being, is that the iPad chargers output a larger voltage (10V vs 5V) than the iPhone chargers.
