Hello Donna

I had the same problem on my V8 absolute. I tried to fix the lid back on but was deterred in case any of the plastic snapped. I contacted Dyson and as my machine is under guarantee, they are sending me a new bin. In the meantime, as i had nothing to lose in trying to force the bin lid on, I did so and it worked. I used the same principle as the guy in the DC07 Video above. As you have arthritic fingers, I would get a friend/neighbour to help you to squeeze the lid back on (on the basis that you won't be angry if the plastic breaks - like me, you have nothing to lose at this stage, as you will be receiving a new bin). I hope it works. All the best
